The Sixties Daily Trivia

Sorry!  Captain Horatio Magellan Crunch is the legendary mascot of the cereal Cap'n Crunch. The character was created by Allan Burns, who later gained fame for creating The Munsters and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He is depicted as an esteemed 18th-century naval captain, with white eyebrows and a white moustache. He is dressed in traditional naval attire, complete with a Napoleonic-era hat, leading to speculation that he may be French. We can only assume that his middle name, Magellan, serves as a nod to the 16th-century Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magella.
