Gooooood show! I cannot believe some of those songs didn't make it past #13. My favorites were "Bring It On Home" and "A Different Drum". Thank you three, Carl and Neal, and Jill also, for the show. See you in September! Hey, that would make a good title for a song. Also, I was thinking about the little record with the big hole. Did you ever come up with a name for that hole?
And, thank you Arthur from Australia for your comments in the "Guestbook". I was aware of Australia's contribution and in World War II also. Australia has been a great ally with the United States. THANK YOU sir.

Admin reply: "Thank you Wally for a great post here in the Guest Book. Yes, "See you in September" could actually be a song someday, somewhere, sometime, huh?

Thanks for asking about the little hole on the 45 rpm records. Never have we found out what it is officially called. Just the little hole, I guess. Thanks for asking Mr Wally of Iowa.

Glad you enjoyed the show and September shall be a rockin' and rollin' showgram for your musical entertainment."

Great website. I have provided the following information that your audience may find interesting:
About 50,000 Australians served during the Vietnam war with the army providing the bulk. Our commitment started with military advisors (the Australian Army Training Team) to the ARVN and some mountain tribal units and increased to 3 battalions and supporting arms. I served in SVN in 1968/9 as a rifleman with the 2nd and 4th Battalions, Royal Australian Regiment. We commemorate our involvement in SVN on 18th August each year in remembrance of the 510 KIA that we lost during the war. On the 18th August 1966 the Battle of Long Tan occurred which was the first and biggest battle that Australian soldiers had been involved in. Your readers may wish to research it and the battles of FSB Coral and Balmoral.
best wishes,
I am listening to music on your wesite as I write this..thanks again
arthur. :o

Admin reply: Thank you, Arthur! As you know I served in Vietnam and I am aware of Australia's support in the war but many other folks may not know that. In fact I met several Aussie soldiers who were serving there. Continue enjoying the site and thank you for signing the guestbook.

Thank you! Another really enjoyable show. I haven't listened to "Beep Beep" in quite awhile. Fun! Speaking of traveling, how about "Rocket Man". I don't think he has come down yet.

Admin reply: Thank you, Wally, for being a fan and for your support of Soundtrack of the 60s. "Rocket Man" is a great choice, but it was released in 1972.

Carl and Neal great July "Soundtrack of the 60's" so many neat ways to get around back then and now. as Jan and Dean would say "grab your board and go sidewalk surfin' with me" at our age that best left to the kids and teenagers. :!giggle:

Hope you guys had an enjoyable 4th of July.

Drew :!time:

Admin reply: Thank you Drew. The Jan & Dean song never crossed my mind. Indeed, excellent choice.
