Comments: Carl......thanks for your comments about Neal. A fun guy. I've known him since the mid sixties up in Glasgow AFB, Montana. We also got together many times with other Air Force guys. We all would travel to different places to get together along with ours wife's too. We had some great fun. We will miss him very much. I am sad! He always had great fun doing his "thing" on your website. He also always had great things to say about you.
Admin reply: Neal was definitely a fun guy. I still chuckle at some of his commentary I recall from Soundtrack of the 60s. I have retained many of his shows. Now I do not believe I will ever get rid of them. Please stay in touch Wally.

Comments: Carl, thank you for keeping the '60s alive with your awesome website.
You mentioned an 'event' was as simple as going out for ice cream. Reminds me of my Dad always taking us out to ice cream when his car odometer hit a round number, like 50,000 or 60,000 miles.
When it got close to the big one, 100,000 miles, he promised us 3 kids that the odometer would hit 100,000.0 just as we were pulling into the ice cream parking lot. Just before we get to the ice cream place the odometer starting going to 100,000.1. My Dad then turned around and put it in reverse (as Mom closed her eyes), so we hit 100,000.0 just as we entered the parking lot, keeping his promise. Fun, innocent days.
Admin reply: Thank you for sharing your special memory Budd and for visiting The 60s Official Site. Memories are what we do here. Come back often. Always new content going up.

Comments: I want to compliment you, Carl, for the new music program, Solid Gold Memories you have created. The playlist of hit singles from the '50s, '60s and '70s is absolutely fantastic and cannot be found anywhere else. We all miss Soundtrack of the 60s with Neal-at-the-WEEL, but he would be very proud of the new show you have put together. Keep up the great work, my friend, and thanks for keeping the 1960s alive and in our memory!

Comments: Hi Carl........just did May of the 60s site. Really enjoyed the new content section. The Early Years of Rock 'n Roll was real cool. Some vintage stuff in those clips. Thanks so much.
Admin reply: Happy to hear you enjoyed looking back, here at The 60s Official Site. The site has daily updates as well as weekly. Neal's show was a monthly event, however. Check in often.

Comments: Recommendaations for your DJ list.
Can't remember his name, but the evening DJ on WKYC 1100 in Cleveland. Marvelous. In 1965, he came on the air one night and said the next song was going to number 1. Then he played Hang on Sloopy by The McCoys. And its still the state song of Ohio and a fight song for Ohio State. And it helped Cleveland when the Cuyahoga was burning. That DJ made a difference promoting songs and groups he believed in. The lead vocalist of the McCoys went on to play with artists all over the world, and produced many of them.
Admin reply: Thank you for you stopping by. At WKYC AM 1100 radio, There were quite a few great DJs like Jim Gallant, Bill Withers and Jerry G. Unless You can recall the specific DJ's name I can not research this person.
