The Righteous Brothers

The Righteous Brothers
Bill Medley was born in Santa Ana, California on September 19, 1940 and Bobby Hatfield was born on August 10, 1940 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Bobby and his family moved to Annaheim California when he was four years old.
Their signature song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' " is the most played song in American radio history. "Unchained Melody" has been recorded by more artists than any song in rock 'n roll musical history, however; Bobby Hatfield's version of "Unchained Melody" is the best recorded version of the song. "Unchained Melody" was produced by partner Bill Medley and it appeared 25 years later in the movie "Ghost" which resulted in reaching the Billboard Top Forty Chart two more times.
The Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock ' N Roll Hall of fame in 2003 which insured their legacy would live on. Their musical talent and harmony resulted in the coined the phrase "blue eyed" soul. Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield first met in Orange County, California where they forged a lifetime friendship and played together while attending high school in Anaheim.
The Righteous Brothers began in a group called the Paramours and with Bill Medley's deep rich bass voice and Bobby Hatfield high range tenor voice resulted in a unique and profound sound. While performing in a local bar a young black marine shouted after one of their duets, "That's righteous brother."  They remembered that event and renamed their group, The Righteous Brothers before the release of their first album.
The Righteous Brothers' dominance on the charts and their popularity was very evident by Elvis Presley performing their hits "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' and "Unchained Melody" during many of his appearances.
The Righteous Brothers had 12 Top 40 hits including "Unchained Melody' which peaked three times on the Billboard charts, first in 1965 at number 4, and twice later in 1990 at number 13 and a re-recorded verison which made it to number 19.
Over 40 years after their debut their music still can be heard on radios across the globe.
Bobby Hatfield passed away November 5, 2003 but his voice will be heard forever in Rock 'n Roll Heaven.
